I'll second the bit about turning around - actually I find it *easier* turning a sidecar rig in most circumstances than a solo rig, especially on a hill. (Don't have to worry about the weight of the bike hitting you at a weird angle.) It can be more challenging if you have to push it uphill due to the weight of the sidecar, but the actual turning isn't an issue. If you are parking on a steep slope, you might want to be looking at a machine with some kind of parking brake if first gear won't necessarily hold it in place.

I'll also second the bit about tending not to take the sidecar off - the Burgman rig has a quick release system (two bolts that come out, about as easy as any sidecar can be to take off) but it very rarely gets used.

The Ural can be reliable - just not as reliable as many more modern styled bikes. We took our 2007 Ural Tourist out to both coasts - and it very very rarely left us stranded (before the final engine blowup somewhere around 55,000km)

Honda FB6 = No reverse. No option nor aftermarket.
Goldwing = has reverse.

Reverse is nice; In fact, it is the only thing I truly miss from when I had Komerade Bikeski. But as long as I have my left leg and enough sense not to park with the nose pointing downhill where I can't drive forward to leave I'll manage :P

Honda F6B

Honda CB1100
Suzuki V-Strom
Triumph T100

A few more makes and models to consider…the Triumph dealer here in NS is no longer as of the 1st of Sep.
I also realized that I won't know which bike to choose until I sit on it to see if we fit each other….I'm thinking about body alignment.

I'm drawn to Ural's but we don't have a Ural dealership in Nova Scotia anymore, nor anywhere else in the maritimes.

Actually, no, Newfoundland is not part of The Maratimes. But The Maratimes + Newfoundland & Labrador together make up Atlantic Canada. Apparently the term originated when the Maratime Union was first discussed and predates Confederation.
